Clarification to Section 5.3.6. of Notice to Importers No. 865 - Chicken and Chicken Products - Supplemental Imports (Items 96 to 104 on the Import Control List) - Application Processing Timeframes
Section 5.3.6 of Notice to Importers Serial No. 865, dated December 15, 2014, addresses the normal timeframes required for the processing of applications for supplemental import authorizations due to market shortages. It states that:
“Normally, officials will require eight (8) working days to process applications. However, the actual processing time required will vary with the nature and quantity of the product requested, market conditions and other factors.”
For a variety of reasons, including the increase in volume of supplemental import authorization requests, the Department is informing applicants that the normal timeframe to process such applications moving forward will be twelve (12) business days. All efforts will be made to address applications as expeditiously as possible.
