Canada-Bermuda relations

Bilateral relations

Canada and Bermuda have been commerce, education, and tourism partners for centuries. According to estimates, there are 3,000 to 3500 Canadians living in Bermuda. Canadian workers are more numerous in Bermuda’s Civil Service and private sector than any other nationality and have the highest professional profile of any non-Bermudian group.

Security cooperation

Canada and Bermuda maintain strong ties on security issues through an ongoing relationship between the Consulate General of Canada, New York (CNGNY)/Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) & Embassy of Canada, Washington, D.C./Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and their respective counterparts.

Both the Bermuda Police Service and Bermuda Customs have been working closely with the RCMP and CBSA over the past several years. There is meaningful ongoing cooperation between all agencies in terms of combatting drug smuggling and other organized crime.
