Bilateral relations
Canada and the Union of the Comoros established diplomatic relations in 1977. In Comoros, Canada is represented by its High Commission in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. In Canada, Comoros is represented in Canada by its Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York, United States. Comoros also maintains an Honorary Consul, based in Burlington, Ontario.
Most contacts between Canada and Comoros are carried out through La Francophonie, the United Nations and other multilateral bodies. Canada and Comoros are both committed to address climate change and Canada has pledged to support vulnerable countries most affected by climate change, such as Comoros and other Small Island Developing States. Comoros is able to access Canadian support to key multilateral organizations such as the United Nations, the World Bank, the African Development Bank, the African Union, and others.
Comoros is in the process of acceding to the World Trade Organization (WTO). Canada supports the accession of Least Developed Countries (LDCs) to the WTO and concluded bilateral negotiations with Comoros in 2021.

In 2021, two-way merchandise trade totalled $822,137, consisting of $789,772 in exports to, and $32,365 in imports, from Comoros.

International assistance
In 2020-21, Canada provided a total of $3.4 million in international assistance to Comoros, via regional and multilateral organizations such as La Francophonie. Since 2000, Canada has provided $34.5 million to Comoros and is one of the principal contributors to the Global Fund, an organization fighting AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.
