Spyros Kallis, Honorary Consul of Canada in Nicosia, Cyprus
Mr. Spyros Kallis has been appointed as the Honorary Consul of Canada in Nicosia, Cyprus in July 2024. Born in Toronto to Cypriot parents and having spent his childhood years in Cyprus, he is a proud Canadian with dual Canadian-Cypriot citizenship.
With his extensive network of contacts, dynamic personality and dedication, Mr. Kallis is bringing a sustained energy to the Consulate in Nicosia. His wide-reaching connections, cultivated over years of professional and personal interactions, will serve as a robust foundation in his role as Honorary Consul of Canada.
After graduating from The English School in Nicosia, Mr. Kallis obtained in 2005 his Bachelor and Master’s in Engineering (M. Eng) and an honorary MA (Cantab) from the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. He then joined PricewaterhouseCoopers in London to work as a strategy consultant.
In 2009, Mr. Kallis returned to Cyprus to join and expand his family business, Nortest (Cyprus) Ltd, a leading engineering consulting and auditing firm. Leveraging his industry network, he leads business development and specializes in technical assessments for both local and international clients. He holds numerous qualifications in the energy sector and is regarded as an expert in his field, often consulted by local and foreign entities. Mr. Kallis is a dedicated member of the Nicosia community, involved in volunteering including the Junior School Parents' Association, supporting initiatives such as Sistema Cyprus, and supporting disadvantaged families.
Mr. Kallis is married to Andrea T. Loizou with whom he has three sons.
