Jacqueline DeLima Baril, Ambassador of Canada to the Dominican Republic
Message
It is my great honour and privilege to serve as Canada’s Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, an important bilateral, regional, and multilateral partner for Canada in the Americas.
Canada and Dominican Republic enjoy a strong relationship, built on the shared values of respect for democracy, rule of law and human rights. We also share common priorities such as a commitment to inclusive economic growth, gender equality, climate change and regional security.
In 2024, we will be proudly celebrating 70 years of diplomatic relations, while continuing to advance on the many opportunities to deepen our bilateral relationship. Our commercial ties continue to expand, with increasing opportunities as well as interest on the part of Canadian companies in conducting business with the Dominican Republic.
Our people-to-people ties are strong and growing, with close to a million Canadians visiting Dominican Republic to enjoy the natural beauty of the country, its rich history and to experience the warmth and hospitality of the Dominican people and culture. I, myself, have had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful country for more than 30 years, and I look forward to continuing to explore the entire country and all its diversity, and to meeting Dominicans across the country.
I am proud to work with a wonderful team of talented and committed professionals at our embassy, who represent a great diversity of backgrounds and experience. Together, we will strive to deepen the friendship and ties between Canada and the Dominican Republic and to advance on common priorities for the mutual benefit of our countries.
I invite you to browse our website and social media accounts to get to know more about our activities and services including consular services to Canadians in the country; support for Canadian companies interested in the Dominican market; and opportunities to study in Canada, among others.
We look forward to engaging with you.
Jacqueline DeLima Baril
