Consular officials do not provide any legal advice or represent a person in court.

The office provides the following notarial services, , to Canadian citizens and, in limited cases, to non-Canadian citizens if the documents are intended for use in Canada.

Note: Documents must be in English or French, or accompanied by an official translation in English or French.

Should you apply for a child passport, please see below required documents

  • printed, completed and signed
    • On the back of one of the photos, the photographer must write
      • their name
      • their complete address and
      • the date the photos were taken
    • Your must also sign the back of this photo.

    • This can be a long-form birth certificate or a citizenship certificate.
      • It must be the original document, not a photocopy.
      • The name on the proof of citizenship is what goes on their passport.

    • a detailed (long-form) birth certificate from a Canadian provincial or territorial office that includes the name of the parent(s)
      • This document is also accepted as proof of Canadian Citizenship.
        • if born in Ontario, we also accept a certified copy of birth registration
        • if born in Quebec, we also accept a copy of an act of birth
    • a court-issued adoption order that has the name of the adoptive parent(s)
    • a foreign birth certificate that has the name of the parent(s)
