Development and humanitarian assistance

For the 2022 to 2023 fiscal year (from April 1 to 31 March), Canada’s international assistance to Gabon amounted to $732,900.

Canada’s international assistance to Gabon is in line with the action areas of Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy and the aims of the African Union’s Agenda 2063. For more than a decade, Canada supported Gabon through regional and pan-African organizations working on environmental and climate issues, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions and combating deforestation.

Canada also funds local projects through the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives, managed by the High Commission of Canada in Cameroon, in Yaoundé.

Furthermore, Gabon is eligible for the Canadian International Development Scholarships 2030 Program.
