Jean-Dominique Ieraci, High Commissioner for Canada in Singapore
Message
Welcome to the High Commission of Canada in Singapore!
With tours in South Korea, Syria, France and Mexico, I find myself back in Singapore for the second time, after first serving here from 2005 to 2008.
It is unmistakable that Singapore has evolved and changed in many ways since I was last here, and I very much look forward to continuing to enhance our deep, diverse and vibrant bilateral ties.
My posting to Singapore also takes place against the backdrop of the global COVID-19 pandemic. It has been a challenging time for many, and the global situation, including border and travel rules, remain fluid. For Canadians who need to travel, and for those travelling to Canada, I encourage you to check in with the Government of Canada travel website, for the latest travel guidance information.
With a large number of Canadian companies located here in Singapore, and bilateral trade totaling more than $2 billion a year, the commercial relationship between Canada and Singapore is particularly strong. I look forward to playing a part in further expanding our trade and investment relationship and see many exciting opportunities, including in the areas of science, technology and innovation.
Our shared interests also make Singapore and Canada natural partners on important global issues, such as sustainability and climate change, and regional and cyber security. We also have shared interests in the areas of empowering women, and advancing gender equality in our respective societies. We work closely together in regional and international organizations, including as a Dialogue Partner with ASEAN, in APEC and the WTO, and the Arctic Council. Our shared values of diversity, pluralism and tolerance provide a strong foundation for further collaboration in many areas, including arts and culture.
The High Commission of Canada in Singapore continues to provide consular services to Canadians including passport, citizenship and other services.
Our team is also committed to providing you with this gateway to a range of information about Canada. Whether you are interested in investing or studying in Canada, discovering more about Canadian products and services, or want to find out about our visa and immigration services, I trust that you will find this website useful.
