Reporting a crime as a foreign representative
In the event of a theft or other property-related crime, contact your police of local jurisdiction. Depending on the nature of the incident, you may be asked to meet with a police officer, provided with additional instructions, or simply given a police file number over the telephone for further reference.
Should you be asked to submit a written statement, or appear in court to provide testimony in person, and you have concerns about how such an action may conflict with your status in Canada, consult your mission.
Most local police services provide a specific telephone number for reporting such crimes. You can find links to the websites of police services in many Canadian cities.
In the event of a life-threatening emergency or a crime in progress, call 911 immediately.
