Access to Personal Information About Foreign Nationals

The Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (Office of Protocol) presents its compliments to Their Excellencies the Heads of Diplomatic Missions and Chargés d’affaires, a.i. accredited to Canada and has the honour to inform Their Excellencies of procedures pertaining to information involving Foreign Nationals.
The Department wishes to inform Their Excellencies that it has been receiving a high volume of request to provide information regarding Foreign Nationals, for example, citizenship and immigration status and residential status in Canada. In order to facilitate and expedite these inquires, the Department requests that all concerns relating to the information of a Foreign National be submitted through the Interpol network of the Foreign National's home country.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (Office of Protocol) avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Their Excellencies the Heads of Diplomatic Missions and Chargés d’affaires, a.i. accredited to Canada the assurances of its highest consideration.
