Summary of key changes made to A Guide to Canada's Export Control List
Amendment of the Export Control List (December 2021)
Please note that this is only a high-level summary of some of the more significant changes made to the December 2021 edition of A Guide to Canada's Export Control List (the Guide). Various other minor changes to the control texts were agreed upon during the relevant export control and non-proliferation regime meetings in 2021, though the majority of these did not affect the scope of the existing controls.
Exporters wishing to review specific changes that were made to the Guide should e-mail the Export Controls Policy Division at expctrlpol@international.gc.ca and request a pdf document that tracks all the changes that were made against the last version.
Additions
1- 3.C. – New controls were added for certain electronic substrates made from Gallium Oxide or Diamond.
1-3.D.6 – New controls were added for certain software for the design of integrated circuits that have gate all around field effect transistors.
1-9.E.3.a.2.e – New controls were added for certain technology for gas turbine engine combustors utilising pressure gain combustion.
2-13.c – New controls were added for certain add-on plates for military helmets that provide ballistic protection.
7-4 – New controls were added for certain new chemical precursors for chemical weapons.
7-12.10 – New controls were added for certain software for nucleic acid assemblers and synthesizers.
Deletions
1-1.C.6.b.2 – Controls for certain fluorinated silicone lubricating fluids were deleted.
1-2.E.3.b.2 – Controls for certain technical data for material processing were deleted.
