CPTPP General Review
The General Review operationalizes a commitment made by CPTPP Memberships in Article 27.2.3 of the Agreement. The purpose of the General Review is to reflect on the operation of the Agreement with a view to updating and enhancing, as appropriate, to ensure that the Agreement remains relevant to the issues and challenges confronting the Parties. In November 2023, CPTPP Ministers advanced this commitment by endorsing the Terms of Reference for Conducting the General review – a document that identifies the objectives, scope, and methodology that will guide the General Review process.

Public consultations
Public consultations on the CPTPP General Review
From June 3 to July 31, 2024, ¶¶ÒùÊÓƵ conducted public consultations to solicit views from Canadians on the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) as part of the Agreement’s mandated General Review. The purpose of the General Review is to reflect on the operation of the Agreement with a view to updating and enhancing it, as appropriate, to ensure that the Agreement remains relevant to the issues and challenges confronting the Parties. A final report that summarizes the feedback from this consultation is pending.
CPTPP Dairy Tariff Rate Quotas (TRQs) Panel Report Implementation and Other Administration Policy Changes
¶¶ÒùÊÓƵ conducted a public consultation on the CPTPP dairy TRQs administration policies from February 6 to March 7, 2024. The goal of this consultation was to help inform the decisions in implementing the CPTPP dairy TRQs dispute panel report published in September 2023 and in making any other administration policy changes.
