Project Information
Are other countries than Jordan eligible for the call?
No. As stated on the call page, your proposed project will take place exclusively in Jordan.
Does the experience required from previous projects have to represent individual initiatives each with a specific duration and value (at least three years and CAD 5 million each), or can it be cumulative across several projects?
For this Call, the previous project experience can be cumulative across the several projects.
How can we ensure that activities involving youth work are acceptable in the context of this Call?
As indicated on the Call Page, programming for youth must align with Jordan’s national laws governing labour law and youth rights, as well as all child labour conventions to which Canada and Jordan are party.
Can projects from non-signatory partners be used as examples for the required project experience?
No. The required project experience examples can only be demonstrated by the lead applicant and other signatories.
What do we mean by green jobs in this Call?
This call refers to the following definition from International Labour Organization's definition: “Green jobs are decent jobs that contribute to preserve or restore the environment, be they in traditional sectors such as manufacturing and construction, or in new, emerging green sectors such as renewable energy and energy efficiency”.
How does the Policy on Cost-Sharing apply when there is more than one signatory to the agreement (accountability)?

What is the definition of innovation for this call?

How is the integration of gender equality in concept note evaluated?
As indicated on the Call page, priority will be given to proposals that meet the requirement of targeting (GE-03) or fully integrating (GE-02) gender equality and women’s and girls’ empowerment in their design.

Are there any specifications regarding the “remote areas” mentioned in the ultimate result of this call?
It is up to organizations to justify the geographical areas selected for their project, and no specific “remote areas” have been identified for programming.

Is non-repayable funding eligible for this call, such as grants to individuals or small and medium-sized businesses?
Yes. Non-repayable funding may be considered for this call.
What determines the project start date?
The project will begin once the recipient organization(s) and ¶¶ÒùÊÓƵ have signed the financial instrument.
Application Process & Eligibility
If one of the organizations in the consortium meets the requirements in terms of capacity and recent experience, does this make the consortium eligible according to the guidelines for this Call?
Yes. If the consortium lead (signatory) meets the requirements in terms of capacity and recent experience, it will make the consortium eligible to apply.
Are organizations registered as a foreign association or a foreign society with the Government of Jordan eligible to apply as a signatory partner?
Only organizations that are legally incorporated in Canada or in Jordan are eligible to apply as a signatory partner. If your organization is legally incorporated in Jordan, AND your organization is registered to operate in Jordan (with the Government of Jordan), then you are eligible to apply to this Call. Please refer to the Call page, section Organization Eligibility, for full details.
Are organizations locally registered in Jordan but not legally incorporated in Jordan or Canada eligible to be a signatory partner for this call?
For this Call, only organizations that are legally incorporated in Canada or in Jordan are eligible to apply as a signatory partner. If your organization is submitting a concept note with other organizations, each organization co-signing the funding agreement must meet these eligibility requirements and provide documents that show their eligibility.
Carefully examine the selection criteria on the call page, in the “Organization eligibility” section.
Are all eligibility criteria mandatory for non-signatory partners?
All mandatory eligibility criteria presented on the call page are for organizations that would sign a contribution agreement with ¶¶ÒùÊÓƵ.
As indicated on the call page, organizations that do not meet the eligibility criteria may consider forming a consortium with an organization that meets all the eligibility criteria.

Are previous recipients of Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) in Jordan eligible to apply?
No restrictions are placed on applicants based on previous Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) or other ¶¶ÒùÊÓƵ’s funding.
However, applicants must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria.
Would ¶¶ÒùÊÓƵ consider extending the definition of “recent experience” beyond 8 years?
No. As mentioned on the Call page, recent experience must be within the last 8 years.
How many consortiums is a single organization allowed to participate in under this Call, and what are the maximum number of organizations permitted in a consortium?
An organization can only be a signatory or a cosignatory for one application in this Call. As indicated on the Call Page, if your organization submits more than one (1) application, either on your own or as a co-signatory to a funding agreement, we will only consider the application with the earliest submission time stamp.
There are no restrictions on the number of non-signatory organizations allowed.
Do non-signatory organizations have to fill in the Organization Attestation form?
As indicated on the Call page, only each of the signatory organizations is required to complete the Organization Attestation form.
Would in-kind contributions or other non-financial support be considered for this Call?
Yes. In kind contributions can be considered if they meet the requirements of the Policy on Cost-Sharing for Grant and Non-Repayable Contribution Agreements.
