Statistical Report on International Assistance

This report presents an annual comprehensive and detailed account of Canadian international assistance.

Historical project data set

The below Historical project data set (HPDS) provide international assistance statistics in database-friendly formats. The HPDS don’t replace official reports. They do, however, allow for further breakdown and analysis of international assistance expenditures, thus providing a more granular view of international assistance data than the Statistical Report on International Assistance, with a few differences outlined below:

Data by country spending

Data sets A and B below contain data on Canada's assistance disbursements by country, by fiscal year up to 2016-2017. Since 2017-2018, this data has been included in the historical project data files above.

The figures provided in both data sets are identical. Data set A is structured for easier import into statistical database programs. It is in a stacked format and to be used in conjunction with the two files titled "Recipients" and "Sources" for better understanding of the data. Data set B is presented in a sample table.
